One can now sense the coolness of the season in the autumn grasses swaying in the breeze.

Today’s lesson focused on the handling of a hira-mizusashi (flat water vessel) placed directly on the floor. Learned procedures such as wiping the lid over the kensui (waste water bowl) and leaning the lid against the wall (or folding screen).

The flowers in the alcove are Daisen Gion-mamori (a variety of rose of Sharon), dayflower (tsuyukusa), and Job's tears (juzudama).

For sweets, prepared "Fuyō-kan"(confectionery shop Shiono Akasaka).
