Now that the official start of autumn, "Risshu," has passed, we can sense the approach of fall even amidst the lingering heat.

The hanging scroll in the alcove bears the inscription "Banri Mu-henun" (Ten Thousand Miles Without a Single Cloud). This phrase evokes a vast, clear sky stretching as far as the eye can see, entirely free of clouds.

The flowers in the alcove are Enshu-mukuge (a type of hibiscus) and Asiatic Dayflower.

For sweets, prepared "Ban-kan-to"(a purveyor of traditional yuusoku confections Oimatsu, Kyoto).
