With the warm weather continuing, the cherry blossoms are now in full bloom. The garden at Shorai-an is also bustling with activity.

The tea room at Shorai-an is modeled after the Urasenke-style Yuin and features a push-up window tsukiagemado) at celling. Although the tea room is dim in the morning, opening the push-up window (tsukagemado) instantly brightens the space. It feels as though we’ve invited spring right in.

The flowers in the alcove are Maiden Camellia (Otome-tsubaki) and Snow Willow.

For sweets, prepared Warabi Mochi (Tsubameya at Nihonbashi,Yanagase main store in Gifu).
