December has arrived, and the autumn leaves reflected in the pond at Shorai-an are now just a fleeting sight. The butterbur that began blooming a little while ago adds a touch of color to the garden.

The scroll on the alcove is ""無事是貴人 - Buji kore kinin" which means that safety is the greatest treasure. It expresses gratitude for having spent this past year safely.

The flowers in the alcove are daffodil and buttercup winter hazel.

For sweets, prepared "Kimamori kaki" (Sanyudo in Kagawa).
