Today's matcha is "Fuyo no Midori," a favorite of the head of the Kobori Enshu Ryu, Soho (Matsuoen, Nagoya). A pleasant aroma rises from the gently warmed tea bowl.
The flowers in the alcove are ajania (chrysanthemums pacificum) and colored maple.
For sweets, prepared are "Kuri-iri Ojika" (Shokado, at Kita-Kamakura).
