The trees in Shoraian's garden are beginning to change color. The garden stones and stone basin are beautifully wet in the autumn rain.
The scroll on the alcove is "吟風一様松 -kaze ni ginzu ichiyo no matsu," meaning "The wind blows equally on all pines without discrimination." If we interpret "wind" as "Buddha nature," it teaches us that do not quickly becoming discouraged or despairing, no matter what happens, believing the wind that blows equallly to everything, including us.
The flowers on the alcove are gentian, boneset, fox tail grass, Japanese anemone, and golden lace.
For sweets, prepared Kurimushi Yokan (Minochu at Aichi).
