The typhoon passed away yesterday, and a refreshing breeze is blowing through Shorai-an. The sound of water flowing from the stone basin brings a sense of fresh coolness in the tea room.

The scroll on the alcove is "Seifu banri no aki" (Clear breeze, thousands of miles of autumn). It is a continuation of "Sakuya issei no kari" (Last night, a single cry of geese).
This is an autumnal passage, in which the subtle changes in everyday life signal the change of seasons.

The flowers on the alcove is cotton rose of hibiscus.

For sweets, prepared are chrysanthemum rice crackers and hou-sanbon (Rakugan Moroeya, at Kanazawa).
