After the start of autumn, there is a hint of coolness in the air. The sound of Japanese quails echoes through Shōrai-an.
The scroll on the alcorve is “Banri henun nashi” (no single cloud in the sky). It evokes images of a clear blue sky without a single cloud and the high autumn sky.
The flower for the alcove are inula japonica, culver's root, and karukaya.
For sweets, prepared Tamadare (Eitaro Sohompo at Nihonbashi).
